Why hire a DJ?

In the age of cheap streaming services and reasonable equipment hire rates, is it really worth it to spend the extra money on a professional DJ? Yes, Yes and YES! Firstly, there is no substitute for an experienced DJ who can read a crowd and choose music accordingly. A DJ will know pretty quickly what songs work and what songs don’t. If a song doesn’t hit the spot and the crowd starts to migrate from the dance-floor they can quickly and smoothly transition into something different. Secondly a professional DJ will also ensure all equipment is set up correctly and runs smoothly on the evening - everything from lighting to sound levels and correct wireless microphone usage. There’s nothing worse than technical problems during the middle of an important speech. Thirdly it takes additional pressure off your friends and family to arrange the equipment, set it up correct and then constantly manage the music on the evening.

How much Experience do you have?

I have been DJ’ing professionally now since 2013 having performed at over 200 corporate events, weddings and birthday parties. A large number of these performances and bookings were under large name-brand DJ agencies such as WE R DJ’s, Coastal Beats DJ’s and Good Vibe entertainment. Working under these brands I have performed for some of the biggest names on the Gold Coast - Hard Rock Cafe, Q1 resort, GC Bulletin, PCYC Gold Coast, SNAP Fitness, Southport Yacht club, Candyman mansion, Broadbeach Tavern, Surfers Beergarden, The Avenue, Bavarian Bier Cafe, David Jones, Radio Metro 105.7, Hilton Resort & Spa, Griffith University & Melbas on the Park. In addition to this experience I was an announcer and radio DJ at 105.7 Radio metro for 3 years. By choosing me as your DJ, I can guarantee a one-on-one experience from first contact to last song.

Will you play all genres of music and do you take requests?

Yes, I can and will play all genres of music based on the crowd and what works to get the dance floor pumping! Every crowd is different, and so I generally must cycle through genres to find what they like and what really gets them going. This is crowd reading and it’s a skill that only comes with years of experience working crowds. I certainly do take song requests both prior to the event and on the night. I can also take “DO NOT PLAY” lists prior to the event. I pride myself on an extensive music library that has almost any song you could possibly want played on a whim as you dance your worries away.

Do you have your own equipment?

Yes, I pride myself as having only the very best audio and lighting equipment. I have a pair of EV EVOLVE 50’s in excellent condition - These speakers cost a fortune and sound INCREDIBLE! They are in a completely different league to some of the cheap run-of-the-mill speakers that I have seen some DJ’s using. I use only the best (Sennheiser) wireless microphones to ensure perfect clarity during emotional speeches and a state of the art Chauvet DJ lighting rig to add elegance and fun to the dance floor. My ethos is that there is no substitute for quality. I pay extra attention to safety during equipment set up ensuring all cables are secured in a clean and manner. The devil is in the details!

What is your travel radius and cost?
